Our story
Expert Farmer, formerly "FGM International", teams international experts in farm development, crop production, and financial modeling. We use a rigorous methodology inherited from our founders to provide our clients with precise and comprehensive solutions to their high-end and demanding production needs. We excel in managing large-scale farms and also support smaller projects with unique production or sustainability needs.

Our founder, Jean-Louis Forgeard-Grignon, was entrusted with overseeing a large-scale agricultural project in Saudi Arabia. He spearheaded the effort to grow crops in an area that was previously thought unsuitable for farming. This marked the beginning of our specialization in crop production.

Recognizing the difficulties faced by large corporations seeking to expand into new agricultural ventures, he saw an opportunity to create FGM International, a consulting firm specializing in designing, executing, and overseeing large-scale agricultural projects. However, the outbreak of the Gulf War thwarted the company’s plans.

FGM International, emerge as a separate entity. In contrast to its sibling company specialized in rural and local development in the international cooperation sector, the new company caters to private investors. Designed as a trusted partner for investors, it brings in production specialists from within the group to provide recognized expertise in identifying agricultural projects, designing business and production models, and launching operations.

FGM International started incorporating new technologies, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), into its service offering. By doing so, it aligned itself with the needs of large companies. This enabled the company to strengthen its expertise in precision agriculture, spatial analysis, and resource management, further cementing its status as a leading agricultural consulting firm.

The company became part of the French group Global Grain Solution, which specializes in grain storage and infrastructure for larger agricultural projects. It was subsequently rebranded as Expert Farmer.
