Technical assistance to cassava and rice development
Expert Farmer provided technical assistance to GoCongo for the assessment and feasibility of two agricultural sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project focused on evaluating the potential for rice and cassava production. Our work aimed to support GoCongo’s strategic planning and investment decisions.

Technical assistance to cassava and rice development
Limited access to reliable agronomic data, logistical constraints in remote areas, and the need to align technical recommendations with local infrastructure and market conditions.
Our study has enabled GoCongo to validate the agronomic feasibility of their project and refine their investment strategy with realistic CapEx and OpEx estimates and yield projections.
GoCongo is an integrated agribusiness company based in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Founded in 2008, it focuses on local food production -grains, meat, and processed foods- while supporting rural development and food security through large-scale farming and community initiatives.
Site assessment and field missions
Expert Farmer conducted an on-ground mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo, during which we assessed the physical and agronomic characteristics of the suggested sites. The latter, included soil observations, landscape analysis, and evaluation of water availability and access.
Strategic advisory
We analyzed the suitability of the sites for rice and cassava production, considering climatic conditions, soil fertility, and potential yield. Our experts also estimated the capital and operational expenditures required for project implementation. Based on our findings, we provided GoCongo with strategic recommendations to guide their investment decisions. This included identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies, as well as outlining development scenarios.
Reporting and synthesis
Expert Farmer delivered a comprehensive technical note summarizing our findings and recommendations. The document was designed to support internal decision-making and facilitate stakeholders and potential partners communication.
